Peter,

Is the red benchtop milling machine what you use to get your basic tool shapes as well as milling the hex holes etc?

No, it's mostly used for V notches and other minor milling applications. I use laser and waterjet cutting for the precision shapes.

Oh, and broaching, lets not forget hand broaching for when the hex shapes are not quite perfect. This actually happens quite a lot which is why the ti rulers are still not done...

This posting was to respond to the dozen emails I get every week from newbies. :D

I will have the next stuff coming probably next week. I'm supposed to get my RingTools back from tumbling maybe today or tomorrow but there's no way I'll get to finishing any of them in the next few days. I have to finish my paperwork and do an inventory on Thursday and Friday. I'm terrible about putting off all my accounting crap until the last minute.

Always interesting seeing pictures of the shop, I always assumed you worked underground or in a lab like a mad scientist.

Oh, that's not Peter, of course (he would never be so careless as to allow himself to be photographed), it's one of his minions; he sets traps up on the surface, occasionally, and catches a machinist every so often, then drags them down to his underground lair (carefully lit with dayglo lights to trick them into thinking they're still on the surface) to toil away the hours fashioning Peter's insidious designs. It's all part of his ultimate plan for world domination. If you want proof, just examine this particular minion closely, you notice his hands are superglued to those controls. Also, you can see "sunlight" outside the "window" (how clever), when in fact there's three feet of snow on the ground, topside, which doesn't, of course, affect Peter's secret headquarters, buried fifty feet underground.

No no, I actually work out of a converted missile silo at the North Pole....

One of these years, I'll have to bring a small crew out there and we'll shoot a new updated video on how the magic happens in shop. An updated version of whats already floating around the forums...except we'll trade building a folder with building...whatever it is at the moment.

Sounds good! The one thing I would ask if possible is to always leave the original price of the item, whether sold through a normal sale or lottery, in the original blog post.

It might be a little late to leave this comment, and I won't be hurt if it doesn't get posted.

But in looking for the tutorial on atwoodknives.com, I noticed that a couple of pages on your site still reference the old "in stock" mode of sale -- like the "Contact me" page or the "site orientation" page on the FAQ.

Also, in line with Brandon's comments about keeping the orignal list price up on the blog, I thought it might be nice if you added the pieces you've sold off the blog recently to the product listings on atwoodknives.com. That way they're all in one place. Just a thought.
